In the event that a service pipe leak is identified between the curb valve and your dwelling, in accordance with District Rules and Regulations, the property owner is responsible for the maintenance and repair of this section of the pipe. Please follow the guidelines outlined below to ensure compliance:

• Hire a licensed water contractor (see the list below), authorized by the District, to perform work relating to the public drinking water system.
• Regulatory compliance requires the timely repair of all leaks to ensure efficient use of water. In response to these guidelines, the District has established a 15 calendar day maximum period (from the date notice) to complete the service pipe repair.
• Before initiating work your licensed water contractor must submit a completed General Water Permit application, along with the applicable fees.
• The repair work must be inspected and approved by District personnel prior to backfilling the trench.
• Pursuant to Article IX of the District’s Rules and Regulations, failure to complete the necessary repairs within the specified time limit may result in the termination of water service.
